Security Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a proactive Security Engineer to fortify our cybersecurity strategies. This role involves engaging with cross-functional teams to assess security risks and develop comprehensive security solutions tailored to our operations in Johannesburg. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically about security measures are essential.

Responsibilities

• Implement security measures for cloud and on-premise systems.
• Lead incident response efforts and disaster recovery planning.
• Evaluate cybersecurity tools and technologies for implementation.
• Maintain documentation of security policies and protocols.
• Conduct regular updates and patches to security software.
• Work with external vendors for penetration testing and threat analysis.
• Communicate security risks and strategies to management and stakeholders.
• Develop a breach response plan in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Facilitate security awareness training for all staff.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field, with a focus on infrastructure security
