Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Policy Manager to lead our efforts in developing and implementing environmental policies in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in environmental law, sustainability practices, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Formulate strategic environmental policies that support the company's sustainability objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement environmental programs.
• Evaluate environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure regular reporting and communication on environmental compliance to stakeholders.
• Foster partnerships with environmental advocacy groups to enhance program outreach.
• Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impacts from development projects.
• Manage budgets associated with environmental programs and initiatives.
• Prepare policy briefings and guidance documents for senior management.
• Support development initiatives with environmental assessment and strategic planning.
• Contribute to the development of corporate social responsibility strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Policy or Management are advantageous

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in policy and environmental management
