Job Description

We are on the lookout for a motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join our talented team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. You will work closely with software engineers to enhance system reliability and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the rolling deployment processes.
  • Conduct post-mortem reviews on outages and incidents.
  • Optimise cloud resources and costs without compromising performance.
  • Build and maintain scripting in languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Provide on-call support when necessary.
  • Work with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Master's degree preferred
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure operations and site reliability engineering
Technical Skills
  • Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Network protocols and security
Soft Skills
  • Adaptability
  • Attention to detail
Certifications
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with Terraform: Hands-on skills in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with Terraform.
  • Background in security best practices: Knowledge of data protection and network security protocols.
