Laboratory Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team at Tech Innovations Inc. As a vital part of our laboratory, you'll be responsible for conducting tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control. Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing of biological samples.
• Analyze laboratory data and interpret results.
• Ensure all laboratory equipment is calibrated properly.
• Refer to guidelines for compliance with laboratory regulations.
• Facilitate communication between departments regarding laboratory results.
• Train new staff on laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend safety improvements.
• Assist with the validation of new laboratory methods.
• Support the laboratory in achieving accreditation standards.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Laboratory Technology
• Degree in Life Sciences is an advantage

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting.

Certifications

• ISO 15189 Certification
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Training in Molecular Techniques: Experience with advanced molecular biology techniques is a plus.
• Experience in Clinical Laboratory Settings: Prior experience working in a clinical laboratory environment.
