Tax Consultant

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Tax Consultant to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will provide expert advice on tax compliance and planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax laws and experience in preparing tax returns. You will work closely with clients to ensure their tax filings are accurate and timely, and provide strategies to minimize tax liabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop customized tax strategies for various client profiles.
• Educate clients on tax issues and implications for their financial decisions.
• Ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and punctually.
• Monitor deadlines for client tax submissions.
• Participate in training sessions for junior staff on taxation policies.
• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• Honors degree beneficial

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in taxation or financial advisory roles

Technical Skills

• Financial Analysis
• Regulatory Compliance

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling: Ability to create complex models to analyze tax scenarios.
• Experience with VAT and CGT: Knowledge of Value Added Tax and Capital Gains Tax is advantageous.
