Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Investment Banker to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, and investment strategies. You will play a pivotal role in driving significant deals and developing long-term relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

• Draft detailed reports and investment proposals for clients.
• Engage in negotiations with investors and stakeholders to achieve desirable terms.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements during transactions.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for potential investments.
• Mentor and train junior staff in financial analysis and investment practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business
• MBA in Finance or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of investment banking experience or relevant financial sector experience

Technical Skills

• Mergers and Acquisitions Expertise
• Risk Assessment

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Time Management

Certifications

• CFA Level 2 or equivalent
• Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of South African markets: Familiarity with local market dynamics and investment landscapes.
• Languages: Ability to communicate in additional official languages is a plus.
