Job Description

Join our team as a Scrap Picker, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our recycling efforts. This position involves collecting and sorting various scrap materials, ensuring that we process waste effectively and sustainably.

Responsibilities

• Collecting recyclable materials from households, businesses, and industrial sites.
• Sorting materials based on recyclability criteria.
• Ensuring all non-recyclable waste is disposed of properly.
• Keeping the worksite clean and organized.
• Operating handheld tools and machinery safely.
• Assisting with inventory management of collected materials.
• Reporting any hazardous materials to the supervisor.
• Training new hires on proper collection and sorting techniques.
• Engaging with community members to raise awareness about recycling.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in waste management is a plus

Experience

• Experience in the recycling industry or similar field is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of recycling practices

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience in the waste management sector: Experience in operating manually and electric machinery.
