Structural Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Engineer at our Pretoria office, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in structural engineering, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Review and approve project drawings and design calculations.
• Implement quality control measures during the construction phase.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns within the team.
• Interface with regulatory bodies for compliance approvals.
• Ensure effective communication among stakeholders, including clients, architects, and contractors.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification in Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with BIM technology: Experience using Building Information Modeling for design.
• Knowledge of local building regulations: Understanding of South African building codes and regulations.
