Security Engineer

Job Description

As a Security Engineer in our Sandton office, you'll be responsible for developing and enforcing cloud security strategies. You will monitor systems for security breaches, conduct incident response, and work on vulnerability management. We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to securing our digital assets.

Responsibilities

• Implement continuous monitoring solutions for cloud environments.
• Work with auditors and assess security practices.
• Participate in security reviews for new projects.
• Educate and mentor junior security staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field

Experience

• 5 years of experience in cybersecurity and risk management

Technical Skills

• Threat Modeling
• Incident Response

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with automation tools: Experience with tools such as Ansible or Terraform for security automation.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance: Experience with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
