Behavioral Analyst - Special Education

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Behavioral Analyst to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, parents, and students to develop personalized interventions that support students with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate individual behaviour strategies for students.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of educators and clinical staff.
• Engage with parents to provide support and guidance.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for educational staff.
• Utilize evidence-based practices in behavior management.
• Document student progress and intervention effectiveness.
• Support the overall development of inclusive education programs.
• Advise on policy development related to behavioral interventions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science
• Master's degree in Special Education is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years in a behavioral analysis role within education

Technical Skills

• Crisis intervention skills
• Data-driven decision-making

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Conflict resolution

Certifications

• Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) certification
• First Aid and CPR certified

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS): Experience implementing PBIS strategies in an educational setting.
• Training in trauma-informed practices: Knowledge of supporting students with trauma backgrounds.
