Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban office. In this role, you will evaluate insurance applications, analyze risk, and determine policy terms and pricing. Your expertise will be key in shaping our risk management strategy.

Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze risk profiles of insurance applicants.
• Develop comprehensive underwriting policies and guidelines.
• Work with underwriting software to streamline processes.
• Provide insights and recommendations for pricing strategies.
• Respond to queries from agents and customers about underwriting decisions.
• Participate in training programs to enhance underwriting skills.
• Maintain accurate records of applications and underwriting decisions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or related industry
