Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing chemical processes and improving product quality. This role requires a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and the ability to collaborate with other engineers and departments to implement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate laboratory processes for safety and efficiency improvements.
• Engage in troubleshooting chemical processes in production.
• Support product scaling from lab to manufacturing.
• Develop methods for chemical analysis and testing.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
• Ensure that all equipment and processes meet regulatory standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry

Technical Skills

• Process Simulation Software (ASPEN, HYSYS)
• Safety Management

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Mentorship experience: History of mentoring junior engineers and interns.
• Proficient in statistical process control methods: Experience with SPC methodologies for quality management.
