Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Ethnoarchaeologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research into the relationship between indigenous cultures and their archaeological material culture, and developing an understanding of their traditional knowledge and practices. Strong analytical skills and a collaborative spirit are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fieldwork and community engagement projects in indigenous regions.
  • Analyze archaeological materials and their significance to contemporary cultures.
  • Design collaborative research programs that align with community needs and interests.
  • Develop educational materials and outreach programs for local schools and organizations.
  • Contribute to grant proposals to secure funding for research initiatives.
  • Enhance the dissemination of findings through community presentations and publications.
  • Collaborate with cultural institutions to promote awareness of indigenous heritage.
  • Utilize GIS software and data analysis tools for research and presentation.
  • Document and report on project milestones and impacts to stakeholders.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
  • Master's degree in Ethnoarchaeology or related field (preferred)
Experience
  • Experience working closely with indigenous communities.
