Accountant

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented Accountant to contribute to our firm’s success in Cape Town. You will manage client accounts, ensure accurate reporting, and offer financial guidance to improve our clients' operations. Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations.
• Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
• Monitor cash flow and advise on liquidity management.
• Aid in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Support business development initiatives with financial insights.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Perform variance analysis and explain discrepancies.
• Facilitate communication with clients regarding their accounts.
• Advise on financial implications of business decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles

Technical Skills

• Accounting Software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks)
• Excel

Soft Skills

• Communication

Certifications

• CA(SA) or equivalent designation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with IFRS: Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with tax regulations in South Africa: Understanding of local tax laws and compliance is a plus.
