Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Social Worker to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, helping them navigate challenges and access essential services. You will play a vital role in the community, providing support, advocacy, and guidance to individuals and families in need.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess clients' needs.
• Create personalized care plans in collaboration with clients.
• Provide resources and referrals for advocacy support.
• Engage clients in their care and assist with navigating systems.
• Collaborate with community-based organizations to identify resources.
• Document client progress and updates in case management systems.
• Participate in advocacy efforts for social issues affecting clients.
• Participate in peer supervision and support groups.
• Develop and participate in educational programs for clients.
• Maintain a professional ethical standard in all client interactions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology
• Master's degree in Social Work strongly preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a social work environment

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Bilingual skills in English and Afrikaans or Xhosa: Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language.
• Experience in group facilitation: Skills in leading group sessions for support or education.
