Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pattern Maker to join our dynamic design team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for fashion, turning innovative designs into precise patterns that lead to high-quality garments. In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers to ensure the accurate realization of visions while maintaining the highest craftsmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate design concepts into accurate production patterns.
• Develop patterns for various garment types, including woven and knit fabrics.
• Work closely with manufacturing to ensure accurate interpretation of the patterns.
• Ensure that patterns are delivered on time for production schedules.
• Review and refine patterns based on fitting sessions with samples.
• Collaborate with the fabric sourcing team to select appropriate materials.
• Document all pattern alterations and maintain records systematically.
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions for new product lines.
• Implement feedback from designers and production staff to enhance quality.
• Assist in the selection of patterns for seasonal collections.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Fashion Design
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in pattern making for fashion

Technical Skills

• CAD Software
• Fitting Techniques

Certifications

• Pattern Making Certification
• Fashion Merchandising Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
