Job Description

We are seeking a talented Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting exquisite pastries and desserts, while also managing the pastry production process and maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality pastries and desserts that exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage the production schedule to meet peak demands and special events.
  • Conduct regular quality checks for all pastry items before serving.
  • Maintain and clean all pastry equipment and tools to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist in sourcing high-quality ingredients to improve menu offerings.
  • Implement efficient processes to reduce waste and optimize production.
  • Work with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service times.
  • Regularly update the pastry menu based on feedback and seasonal availability.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate or Diploma in Pastry Arts or relevant field
  • Additional culinary certifications are a plus
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
