Steel Detailer

Job Description

As a Steel Detailer, you will create detailed drawings and specifications for steel structures, including buildings and bridges. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project delivery while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed structural drawings for a diverse range of steel projects.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure design integrity.
• Evaluate existing designs and suggest modifications for efficiency improvements.
• Attend site visits and assess the feasibility of designs against existing structures.
• Keep track of project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist in compiling project documentation for submission to regulatory bodies.
• Foster strong relationships with external suppliers and fabricators.
• Advise on best practices for steel fabrication and erection.
• Mentor junior detailers and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with industry trends and new technology in detailing.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or similar field

Experience

• 5+ years of direct experience in steel detailing and fabrication

Technical Skills

• Revit
• Microsoft Office Suite

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with 3D modeling software: Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools to support design.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication standards: Deep understanding of industry standards and practices in steel fabrication.
