Project Architect

Job Description

As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for translating client requirements into detailed designs and ensuring seamless project delivery. Your expertise in architecture will contribute to the success of our diverse project portfolio, enhancing the visual landscape of Stellenbosch.

Responsibilities

• Architect innovative designs from initial concept through to detailed development.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Supervise on-site construction activities and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines.
• Provide expert advice and solutions to architectural challenges that arise during projects.
• Prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders on project progress and updates.
• Mentor junior architects and interns, developing their skills and knowledge.
• Manage client relationships to foster ongoing business and trust within projects.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract documents.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• Master's degree in Urban Planning or Architecture is an advantage

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in complex architectural projects

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software
• Building Information Modelling (BIM)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) membership

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with historic preservation projects: Demonstrated ability to work on renovations of historical buildings.
• Knowledge of construction law: Familiar with legal considerations in construction contracts and negotiations.
