Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Durban team. This role involves designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structures like buildings and bridges. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project documentation.
• Develop innovative design concepts in collaboration with clients.
• Monitor on-site construction and provide technical support as needed.
• Conduct rigorous testing and analysis of structural components.
• Collaborate with local authorities regarding permits and regulations.
• Implement sustainable design practices where possible.
• Ensure budget adherence while maximizing project quality.
• Foster good relationships with contractors and suppliers.
• Prepare for and manage project inspections.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to inform future designs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• 6+ years of relevant experience in structural projects

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Building Codes and Regulations

Certifications

• SACAP registration (South African Council for the Architectural Profession)
• ISO 9001 Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
