Mental Health Counselor

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing counseling and support to individuals facing mental health challenges. You'll work closely with clients to develop treatment plans and facilitate sessions that promote coping strategies and mental well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate clients' mental health status and needs.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy tailored to individual client needs.
• Document client progress and treatment outcomes.
• Assist in crisis situations to provide immediate support.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Conduct workshops and support groups to engage clients.
• Provide referrals to additional services as required.
• Stay current with best practices in mental health treatment.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field
• Professional registration with the relevant board is an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a counseling setting
