Job Description

As a Special Education Needs Teacher, you will make a significant impact by supporting students with special needs. Your role will include designing lesson materials, providing targeted interventions, and monitoring student progress. This is an opportunity to enhance the educational experiences of students in our Cape Town facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate assistive technology in teaching and learning to enhance student engagement.
  • Develop and deliver workshops for staff on special education needs.
  • Utilize various teaching techniques and strategies suited for diverse learning styles.
  • Conduct training sessions for parents and caregivers on supporting learning at home.
  • Create a positive environment that enhances students' self-esteem and motivation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of student records and interactions.
  • Promote extracurricular activities tailored for special needs students.
  • Educate the school community on inclusivity and acceptance.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to support student needs.
  • Continuously review and revise special education policies in line with best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education or relevant field
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a special education setting
Technical Skills
  • Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Certifications
  • Registered Special Education Teacher
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Xhosa: Conversational
