Medical Imaging Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Imaging Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Responsibilities

• Conducting various imaging tests such as X-rays and MRIs.
• Prepping patients and ensuring safety during procedures.
• Operating imaging technology and diagnosing images.
• Assessing images for technical quality and clarity.
• Working alongside healthcare teams to discuss results.
• Documenting patient information accurately and confidentially.
• Following radiation safety protocols diligently.
• Engaging in continuous education on imaging advancements.
• Responding promptly to emergency imaging needs.
• Upholding high standards of patient safety and care.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging or equivalent.
• Certification in specialized imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI) is advantageous.

Experience

• Experience working in both public and private healthcare sectors is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Ultrasound proficiency
• Radiology software utilization

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Time management

Certifications

• HPCSA Registration
• Certifications in additional imaging techniques (advantageous).

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with advanced imaging technologies: Hands-on experience with the latest advancements in imaging technology.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology: Strong understanding of human anatomy to assist in imaging procedures.
