Job Description

We are searching for a dedicated Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating risk and determining insurance coverage for clients. This role requires a keen analytical mind and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement underwriting guidelines that align with company objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and make recommendations on various insurance policies.
  • Engage with clients to ensure their understanding of policy details.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize the underwriting process.
  • Monitor insurance trends and adjust underwriting strategies as needed.
  • Provide regular reports on underwriting performance metrics.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior underwriters.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Economics
  • Relevant insurance qualifications are a plus
Experience
  • 4+ years in underwriting or related financial services
