General Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a driven General Engineer to spearhead exciting projects within our firm. The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of engineering principles and a knack for problem-solving. You will collaborate with other engineers on complex projects, guiding them from inception through to completion, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design and engineering processes from conception to completion.
• Manage and mentor junior engineering staff to foster skill development.
• Ensure alignment with client expectations through continuous engagement.
• Analyze and propose effective engineering solutions for complex problems.
• Utilize software tools for design and project management.
• Document project progress and deliver periodic updates to stakeholders.
• Implement best practices in quality assurance and project management.
• Evaluate resources needed for project execution and manage accordingly.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of engineering experience in a project environment

Technical Skills

• SolidWorks
• Engineering Analysis Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Conflict Resolution

Certifications

• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

• Knowledge of Industry Standards and Regulations: Understanding of ISO and SANS standards relevant to engineering practices.
• Proficient in Environmental Impact Assessments: Experience conducting thorough environmental impact assessments for projects.
