Tax Specialist

Job Description

As a Tax Specialist in our Johannesburg office, you'll manage tax compliance for diverse clients. Your expertise will include preparation of tax returns, audits, and offering strategic advice to minimize tax liabilities. We’re looking for someone who has strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the tax compliance process for clients, ensuring adherence to all regulations.
• Coordinate with government agencies during audits.
• Assess tax implications of various financial transactions.
• Research new initiatives that could affect client tax planning.
• Supervise tax filing processes to ensure deadlines are met.
• Engage with accounting teams to align tax and financial strategies.
• Track and report on tax-related trends and insights for clients.
• Provide workshops and training on tax planning topics to clients.
• Maintain current knowledge of tax law and financial regulations.
• Build out tax strategies that align with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• Additional qualification in Taxation would be advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience dealing with tax compliance and legislation

Technical Skills

• Corporate Taxation
• Audit Preparation

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented
• Client Relationship Management

Certifications

• Certified Tax Advisor
• Familiarity with International Taxation is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
