Actuary

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Actuary dedicated to turning complex data into actionable insights that drive financial performance. You will be responsible for developing risk assessment models and determining pricing strategies, ensuring that our offerings remain competitive while providing optimal value for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct margin study analyses to help in setting premium rates.
• Provide consultancy for clients in risk assessment and management.
• Prepare financial statements and reports according to regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in annual and quarterly reserving processes.
• Guide strategic planning through financial risk assessments.
• Use statistical software to forecast and analyze financial trends.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of methodologies used.
• Lead projects related to development of statistical models for pricing.
• Work closely with data analysts to enhance overall data accuracy.
• Support actuarial research initiatives aimed at improving operations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Fellowship of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in actuarial roles
