We are on the lookout for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban team. The candidate must possess a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of risk assessment. You will analyze insurance applications, assess risks, and make informed decisions on policy issuance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed risk assessments for various insurance products.
• Ensure all underwriting decisions are aligned with company standards.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting skills.
• Engage in continuous improvement of underwriting processes.
• Work closely with claims department to assess ongoing risks.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business or related field
• Graduate degree or relevant certification preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in underwriting or a related sector

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute
