Job Description

We are in search of a Cost Analyst who is adept at analyzing and monitoring costs across our operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities, as well as collaborating with various departments to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geological studies to evaluate mineral deposits.
  • Assist in mine planning by providing geological insights.
  • Develop and implement plans for mineral extraction and waste management.
  • Monitor environmental impact and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate geological data and databases.
  • Prepare and present geological findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead site inspections and ensure operational safety.
  • Participate in project planning and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with geologists and engineers on site assessments.

Requirements

Education
  • BSc degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualification is a plus
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in production geology in a mining environment
Technical Skills
  • GIS Software
  • AutoCAD

Certifications
  • SACNASP Certified Geologist
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Familiarity with coal mining: Experience in coal mining operations is an asset.
