Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting vulnerable individuals and families, providing counseling, and facilitating access to resources and services.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate access to social services and community resources for clients.
• Develop programs aimed at improving community welfare and client well-being.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for clients and community members.
• Provide ongoing support and follow-up for clients post-intervention.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective service delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, suggesting improvements as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work
• Master's degree in Social Work highly regarded

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in community social work

Technical Skills

• Crisis Intervention
• Community Outreach

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Registered Social Worker (RSW)
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Training in trauma-informed care: Practices that recognize and respond to the effects of trauma on individuals.
• Experience with inter-agency collaboration: Ability to work with various organizations for the benefit of clients.
