DevOps Engineer

Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer in our Johannesburg office, you will drive efficiency and quality across our DevOps initiatives. You will implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment and operational excellence in our cloud environments. Responsibilities

• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Perform regular system audits for compliance and security.
• Work with developers to integrate their code changes into the cloud environment.
• Assist in designing and implementing monitoring and alerting systems.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior team members on DevOps practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals)

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cloud operations or DevOps

Technical Skills

• Infrastructure as Code
• Monitoring Tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile teams for software development.
• Contributions to open-source projects: Experience and contributions in open-source communities are a plus.
