Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Museum Curator to manage various exhibitions and collections at our Pretoria location. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for art, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to engage with the public through educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of exhibitions.
• Create digital content to enhance the online presence of the museum.
• Develop partnerships with local artists and businesses.
• Coordinate with conservation specialists for artwork preservation.
• Evaluate visitor feedback and adapt programs accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of collections and exhibition history.
• Implement innovative ideas to attract a diverse audience.
• Assist with fundraising efforts through grant writing.
• Promote inclusivity and accessibility within museum programming.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or related field
• PhD preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of direct experience in museum curation or arts programming

• Afrikaans: Basic
