Job Description

We're on the hunt for a skilled Cloud Engineer in Cape Town, responsible for developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance system reliability. A strong understanding of cloud architecture and DevOps methodologies is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-based applications using microservices architecture.
• Conduct regular audits and performance assessments of cloud services.
• Work with DevOps practices to enhance continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Enhance cloud governance and compliance strategies.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Document cloud infrastructure and architecture for internal teams.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Cloud Computing or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or similar roles

Technical Skills

• GCP
• DevOps Tools

Soft Skills

• Team leadership
• Project Management

Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines: Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automating deployment processes.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud architecture: Experience implementing security controls across cloud environments.
