Job Description

As a Clinical Psychologist in our facility, you will conduct psychological evaluations and provide individual and group therapy. Your expertise will contribute to a multidisciplinary team aimed at enhancing the overall mental health of our clients. We are looking for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the field of mental health.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose a range of mental health disorders.
• Offer psychotherapy and counseling services.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions on mental health topics.
• Engage in community outreach programs to enhance mental health awareness.
• Collaborate with external agencies for client referrals and support.
• Supervise interns and assist in their professional development.
• Prepare reports on client progress and outcomes.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions when applicable.
• Conduct research and contribute to program development.
• Participate in case consultations and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
• Post-graduate training in psychotherapy is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of post-qualification experience in clinical practice

• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Trauma-Informed Care

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Crisis Management

Certifications

• HPCSA Registered
• Certificate in Play Therapy

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in trauma-focused therapy: Specialization in providing therapy for trauma survivors.
• Knowledge of mental health legislation: Familiarity with the legal aspects of mental health treatment in South Africa.
