Job Description

Join our team as a Chemical Operations Manager in Richards Bay, where you will manage chemical production operations. This role requires a strong focus on process optimization, safety compliance, and team leadership to enhance overall productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the chemical production processes and ensure they are running smoothly and safely.
  • Review and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage a team of chemical operators and ensure they are adequately trained.
  • Implement process changes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Act as a liaison between management and production teams to communicate objectives and concerns.
  • Ensure that safety audits are performed and corrective actions are taken.
  • Monitor stock levels of chemicals and supplies and coordinate procurement.
  • Regularly report to upper management on production status and any challenges faced.
  • Develop training programs for new and existing employees on chemical handling and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements regarding chemical operations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Postgraduate qualifications are preferred

  • 5+ years in a similar role within the chemical industry
