Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a passion for innovative structural design, working on various projects from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyse structures to meet safety and performance standards.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Conduct peer reviews of design documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors and geotechnical engineers.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation.
• Lead technical meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Implement sustainable practices in design solutions.
• Ensure project compliance with local codes and regulations.
• Monitor and report on project progress and risks.
• Support the development of new business opportunities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Bridge Design
• Geotechnical Analysis

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration
• Advanced Project Management certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational
