Packaging and Filling Machine Operator

Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced Packaging and Filling Machine Operators to join our dynamic operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and adjusting packaging machinery to ensure high-quality production standards are met. Your expertise in machine operation and maintenance will be instrumental in optimizing our production processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate machines according to production requirements.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Document production processes and machine adjustments for records.
• Coordinate with supply chain for timely delivery of materials.
• Respond promptly to machine alerts and breakdowns to minimize production delays.
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of workstations and equipment.
• Implement process improvements for better productivity.
• Monitor machine performance and report any irregularities immediately.
• Engage in team meetings to discuss production goals and safety protocols.
• Supervise and guide team members during shifts.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Trade Test Certificate as Fitter and Turner is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Loading Machine Adjuster.

Technical Skills

• Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
• Welding and Fabrication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Basic computer skills: Comfortable using PC for data entry and machine logging.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles: Understanding of lean principles to improve operational efficiency.
