Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Technician to oversee lab operations, analyze samples, and maintain lab equipment. You will be crucial in ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures.
• Support laboratory initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in lab practices.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing as needed.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field
• Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is essential

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a laboratory environment

Technical Skills

• Laboratory Safety Protocols
• Sample Collection Techniques

Certifications

• ISO 15189 Accreditation Training

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in molecular biology techniques: Hands-on experience with PCR, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing.
• Knowledge of immunology assays: Familiar with ELISA and other immunoassay techniques.
