Job Description

As a Watch and Clock Repairer, you will be responsible for restoring antique clocks to their original condition. With a keen eye for detail, you'll disassemble, clean, and repair delicate mechanisms, ensuring accurate timekeeping and preserving the history behind each piece.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the condition of antique clocks and determine restoration needs.
  • Clean and repair clock movements, including chimes and mechanisms.
  • Refinish and restore clock cases and dials for aesthetic appeal.
  • Test and adjust restored clocks for proper functioning.
  • Educate clients on clock maintenance and care practices.
  • Document restoration processes and materials used.
  • Research antique clocks and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Attend trade shows and workshops for professional development.
  • Mentor apprentices and share expertise in horology.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork.

Requirements

Education
  • Apprenticeship or certification in clock repair and restoration
  • Degree or diploma in horology or a related field
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in clock repair and restoration, with a proven track record of successful projects.
