Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in systems engineering and coding, combined with experience in cloud infrastructure management. You will play a key role in improving the reliability and performance of our services, ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and cost-effective.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability and reliability of production systems.
• Participate in system design reviews to ensure reliability is considered.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the entire stack.
• Educate teams on SRE best practices.
• Engage in incident response and post-mortem analysis.
• Continuously seek improvements and drive system efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of specific experience in site reliability engineering

Technical Skills

• Monitoring Tools (Prometheus, Grafana)

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Effective Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Security Best Practices: Awareness and application of security principles in site reliability processes.
• Familiarity with API Management: Experience in managing and monitoring APIs in production environments.
