Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to join our team in Pretoria. This role involves managing procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and building strong relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing cost analysis and manage budget allocations.
  • Identify potential suppliers and conduct supplier assessments.
  • Play a key role in developing procurement plans and procedures.
  • Organize procurement training for team members as needed.
  • Keep abreast of inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs.
  • Resolve issues related to deliveries and supplier performance.

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of Green Procurement Practices: Understanding sustainable procurement practices is a plus.
  • Experience in contract management: Previous experience managing procurement contracts is advantageous.
