In this role, you will be responsible for supporting healthcare professionals by handling patient care tasks, preparing examination rooms, and ensuring a smooth patient flow. Responsibilities

• Engage with patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Help in the delivery of primary care services.
• Manage the reception area and assist patients during check-in and check-out.
• Perform basic lab tests and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Assist in the collection of insurance information and payment processing.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Experience

• 2+ years of clinical experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Phlebotomy skills
• Medical terminology

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Organizational skills

Certifications

• CPR Certification
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Understanding of health insurance processes: Knowledge of billing and coding processes as related to medical insurance.
• Bilingual abilities: Ability to communicate with patients in both English and Afrikaans.
