Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in veterinary practices, assisting veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and comfort of our patients, working closely with pet owners to provide excellent care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various surgical and medical procedures.
  • Conduct thorough physical exams and assessments.
  • Administer injectable and oral medications.
  • Coordinate with the vet team on treatment plans.
  • Monitor vital signs and behaviour of patients during hospitalization.
  • Educate pet owners on post-operative care and follow-up protocols.
  • Participate in community outreach and veterinary education programs.
  • Document all treatments and interactions accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the overall operational efficiency of the clinic.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Animal Care or Veterinary Science
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician is a strong asset
Experience
  • 1+ years in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred
