Site Inspector - Cape Town - Construction Management

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Property Consultant to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in property management, client relations, and a strong understanding of the commercial real estate market.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic inspections on-site and prepare inspection reports.
• Evaluate the performance of contractors and ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Ensure that safety measures and regulations are strictly followed at all times.
• Supervise project stages to ensure quality standards and timelines are adhered to.
• Facilitate communication between on-site staff and management.
• Assist in conducting accident investigations when necessary.
• Mentor junior site staff and promote adherence to best practices.
• Participate in weekly project meetings to discuss site issues and resolutions.

Requirements

Education

• BSc in Civil Engineering or related field
• Further certifications in site management are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in site management roles

Technical Skills

• Expertise in compliance and quality control regulations
• Capable of using construction management software (e.g., MS Project)

Soft Skills

• Negotiation and conflict resolution
• Time management

Certifications

• Safety Management Certification
• OSHA Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in project management: Skill in managing timelines, budgets, and personnel on construction projects.
• Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM): Experience in utilizing BIM tools for managing construction processes and designs.
