Join us as an Insurance Underwriter in Durban, where you will evaluate insurance applications, analyze risks, and set premiums accordingly. Our dynamic team is looking for a professional who can provide expert guidance and foster relationships with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for new and existing policies.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
• Identify and mitigate potential underwriting risks.
• Work closely with compliance officers to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Participate in strategy meetings to align underwriting operations with business goals.
• Prepare and present analysis reports to senior management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related field
• Masters in Insurance or Finance is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting or related field

• Underwriting software proficiency
• Financial Acumen

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Intermediate

Advantageous
