Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in structural design and analysis, alongside experience in project management. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of structural projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments of existing structures.
• Prepare engineering reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
• Work closely with contractors to ensure accuracy in the execution of structural designs.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors.
• Ensure project documentation is up to date and easily accessible.

Requirements

Education

• BEng in Civil Engineering
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an added advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Steel Design
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Leadership Skills
• Problem-solving Skills

Certifications

• ECSA Registration
• LEED Accreditation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Local Building Codes and Regulations: Understanding of South African building standards and regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Navisworks: Experience with Navisworks for project visualization and management.
