Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Steamer Tender to join our team in Cape Town. As a Steamer Tender, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining steamers, ensuring smooth operations and efficient production. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a similar role and a solid understanding of steam operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise steam cleaning operations to maintain high-quality standards.
• Manage the loading and unloading of materials on steamers efficiently.
• Conduct training sessions for junior staff on equipment handling.
• Maintain a high level of organization within the operations team.
• Ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations.
• Collaborate with management to develop operational strategies.
• Drive initiatives for reducing operational costs and improving efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Technical diploma in Maritime Operations or related field (advantageous)

Experience

• At least 2 years of prior experience as a Steamer Tender.

Technical Skills

• Cargo Handling
• Navigation Systems (Advantageous)

Soft Skills

• Self-Motivation
• Effective Communication

Advantageous

• Advanced safety certification: Certification in advanced safety protocols related to maritime operations.
• Prior experience with specific steamers in our fleet: Experience operating steamers similar to those utilized in our operations.
