Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Caretaker to join our passionate team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and assistance to pets, ensuring their health, happiness, and safety in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of pet facilities.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor health conditions.
• Exercise pets and stimulate their mental well-being through play.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care and services.
• Follow health and safety regulations in all interactions with animals.
• Record pet behavior and any health concerns in detailed reports.
• Handle animals of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments safely.
• Participate in ongoing training and development sessions.
• Assist with adoption events and public outreach initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local animal care laws and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in animal care or veterinary assistance is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a pet care or veterinary setting.

Certifications

• Certified Animal Care Provider

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
