Job Description

As a Special Education Lead in Cape Town, you will spearhead initiatives that enhance educational experiences for students with special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement programmes that cater to diverse learning requirements, providing leadership and guidance to teaching staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop special education resources and materials.
  • Facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and support staff.
  • Track and analyze student data to inform instructional practices.
  • Provide mentorship to new staff regarding best practices in special education.
  • Engage with community organisations to support student needs and programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Advise senior management on policy and practice related to special education.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Further qualifications in child psychology or behaviour management are a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role within special education
