Job Description

We are on the hunt for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our growing team in Durban. In this role, you will evaluate risks, decide on insurance applications, and set appropriate coverage terms and premiums. A keen understanding of market trends and analytical skills will be essential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and assess risk factors.
• Determine coverage amounts and premium rates for clients.
• Review policy terms and conditions to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with agents and brokers to gather necessary documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
• Communicate decisions effectively to clients and stakeholders.
• Support the negotiation of policy terms with clients and agents.
• Conduct audits of underwriting decisions for quality assurance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Relevant insurance certifications are a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related field
